- Top note
What you smell initially just after spraying on perfume is nothing but the very “Top note”, It’s the lighter, airier sweet smell that hits you, lasting a few minutes. They form a person’s initial impression of a perfume, very important for selling. Lavender, citrus and mint are some examples of Top notes.
- Middle note
Also referred to as Heart note, after the top note effect fades away, you can smell the heart of the perfume. It is the main essence of the perfume, lasts for hours. It comprises heavy florals, like sandalwood and jasmine.
- Base note
When you wake up the morning after you have used the perfume, there’s always a lingering, familiar smell that is left behind. It’s the base note, which lasts up to 12 hours or more. The base notes include heavy smells like musk, amber and vanilla.
Not only can these make you present attractive but it also helps in taking your stress away, lifting your mood.
